

Heath Polk, 85, of Monroe passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, April 23, 2016. Heath was a Corporal in the United States Army, a member of Watson Primitive Baptist Church. He was retired from Teledyne Allvac as a supervisor over the rolling mill for 34 years. Heath also enjoyed working in his garden. Heath was born April 12, 1931 in Union County, son of the late William Carl and Lillian Rushing Polk, he was also preceded in death by his siblings: Ray Polk, Linda Baucom and Betty Drake, his great granddaughter Breleigh Parker.
Visitation will be Monday evening, April 25, 2016 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. Services to celebrate the life of Heath will be Tuesday afternoon, April 26, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Union Grove Primitive Baptist Church, with Elder Charles Broadway and Elder Tom Robinson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Patsy Haigler Polk, three children: Judy Hinson (Daniel), Mark Polk and Susan Herring (Mark) all of Monroe, Grandchildren: Jennifer Meadows, Chandra Meadows, Jason Hines, Brittany Polk, Brandy Polk, Emily McGhee, Kayla Jones (Chris), Matthew Herring, and Jon Hinson, Great Grandchildren: Cody Meadows, Blake Meadows, Austin Meadows, Makenzie Meadows, Kaitlyn Helms, Gracie Parker Carter Jones, Sadie Jones and Olivia Hinson. Sisters: Jeanette Baucom (Hubert), Louise Byrum (Dennis). Brothers: Boyd Polk (Joan), Jerry Polk (Pat), Jake Polk (Rachel), Larry Polk (DeLaine).
