Mrs Shumaker, I am the police officer that had a chance to pray with you on the day your husband was brought into the Emergency Room. I'm very sorry for your loss, but also happy that he knew our Lord and is with him in paradise. I appreciate your allowing me to be a part of your life that day. Also just to let you know my wife is from Monroe, N,C, what a small world. In God We Trust!

I remember Butch fondly from Davidson years, and particularly the Davidson football team, on which we both played. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.

Our condolances to the family of  William Milton Shumaker.  After knowing "Butch" 65 years William doesn't sound like my childhood playmate, classmate and friend. Memories bring happy times and I know all of you will not let grief linger.

That's my beautiful "adopted" Daddy!  He may not have wanted me, but he got me and I thank God for him!  I cannot put into words what I think of this man and the inspiration he has been to me and the blessing that he and his family have been to me and mine!  Daddy, I pray that I raise my boys to be even half the husband, father and friend that you have always been!  I love you so and I will forever keep my promise to you!
