Bertha Humphrey McHone, age 67, passed away peacefully from this temporary life into the glorious presence of her Lord on February 14, 2021. She was born November 24, 1953 in Montgomery, AL to Eley and Ruth Humphrey. She was married to her longtime friend, Bill McHone Jr., of Montgomery, AL.
Bertha always loved on her family, friends, and all that she encountered. In her later years she took on the world with travel and fun times with those she loved. She often traveled with her children, and they all looked forward to the delicious meals that she would cook, especially during Thanksgiving and other holidays. Bertha had a very strong love for all her grandkids and enjoyed the vacations and sporting events with them and other loved ones. The family can remember the fun trips to the beach, to Washington D.C. and other places that they enjoyed together. She also enjoyed the close times spent with her loving cousins Deloris "Doll" Lane and Ruthie Lee Davis. Bertha’s caring heart was shown through her home health business for the elderly and anyone in need. She always cared strongly for the comfort of others.
Bertha was a member of the Church of the Highlands. She loved to hear her favorite gospel song, Amazing Grace How Sweet the Sound. The words would uplift her and she always spread that joy to others. Bertha now has her place in the heavenly choir praising God.
