

ROWE, Clifford Alton, went to be with his Savior, February 18, 2012, after a brief illness. He was born October 12, 1922, to Mallory A. Rowe, Sr., and Annie Walker Rowe, in Birmingham, Alabama, and grew up there along with his sister, Clarice Rowe McKinley, and brother, Mallory A. Rowe, Jr., both now deceased. He graduated from Ensley High School and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Petty Officer 2C on the USS Montauk. After graduating from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, he served a distinguished career as a Special Agent in the FBI. After his retirement there, he served as Chief Investigator for both the Montgomery County DA and the AL Attorney General, both under Jimmy Evans. He was a member and deacon at the First Baptist Church of Montgomery, and provided leadership to many young men as an adult leader of BSA Troop 12. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Margaret Simmons Rowe; two sons, Kevin (Jan) Rowe and Glenn (Angela) Rowe; six grandchildren, Erika Tracy (John), Clifford Hunter Rowe, Carly Rowe, Meghan Belcher, Brandon Belcher (Beverly), and Ryan Belcher (Debbie); and three great grandchildren, Thomas Tracy, Blair Belcher, and Blakely Belcher. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2012, from 5 – 7 PM, at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home, followed by his Funeral Service on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at 10 AM, from the First Baptist Church of Montgomery, with Dr. Jay Wolf officiating. Interment will follow in Alabama Heritage Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Montgomery Building Fund.
