

Dorothy Rosa May Phillips, affectionately known as Sis, was born on March 13, 1942, to Garfield Phillips, Sr. and Julia (McGee) Phillips in Amelia County, Virginia. At a young age she moved to Yonkers, New York, with her family where she finished her schooling at Commerce High School. She became a dedicated member of Community Baptist Church in Yonkers, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She met and married Stanley Clark and from that union God blessed them with one daughter, Selina Clark; they raised her in Mount Vernon, NY. After working for the telephone company for more than two decades, Dorothy retired and enjoyed her golden years with her long-time companion, Willie Walker, with whom she lived in Suffern, NY, and then Indianapolis, Indiana.
Dorothy was known for her love of family and fun, participated in a work bowling league, and proudly sang a unique Happy Birthday song to family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking and was a talented seamstress, known for her attention to detail in her creations.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Garfield Phillips, Sr. and Julia (McGee) Phillips; husband Stanley Clark; brothers: Garfield “Sonny” Phillips, Jr., Arthur “Fats” Phillips, Sr., Joseph “Joey” Phillips, Charles Phillips; nephew, Arthur “Bubby” Phillips, Jr., and her loving and devoted companion Willie.
She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter Selina, Indiana, brothers James "Brother" (Reba) Phillips, Alabama, and Allen (Dawn) Phillips, New Jersey; Godson Yves Dorcelus, Georgia; Best friend and Sister-In-Law Eunice "Coke" Phillips, Mt. Vernon; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
