Faye Bowen James

JAMES, Faye Bowen, 79, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, September 6, 2014. She was born on October 15, 1934 in Grenada, Mississippi to John Willie Bowen, Jr. and Hattie Searcy Bowen. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 60 years, Howard Franklin James; four sisters, Bennie Hemphill, Betty Branscome, Ouida Isabell Bowen, and Mary Lee Bowen; two brothers, James Bowen and Jeff Bowen; and daughter-in-law, Charlotte Lockhart James. She is survived by her three children, Mike James, Steve James, and Kay James McCoy (Michael); one sister, Christine Hales (Lyndell); two brothers, Johnny Bowen and Harold Ray Bowen; five grandchildren, Brandon James (Melissa), Shelby James, Stephanie James Carlos (Jon), Christopher James and Kristyn Vickers Dykes (Jeremiah); two great grandchildren, Sawyer James Carlos and Stryder Franklin Dykes; two step grandchildren and many relatives. Faye was loyal and devoted; she took great pride and joy in selflessly caring for all. She worked for Sears until retirement. Her memory will be cherished. A Celebration of Life service was held on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Rick Marshall officiating, followed by a graveside service. The family received friends one hour prior to the funeral service.Pallbearers will be Michael McCoy, Christopher James, Jeremiah Dykes, Brandon James, Jon Carlos, and Bubba Bowen.
