Grace Belle Aldridge

Grace Belle Flynn affectionately known as Lee by her friends was born on October 5, 1930 in Bangor Maine was preceded in death by her husband Robert G. Aldridge, parents Joseph F. Flynn and Anna Margaret Gebbia Flynn and brother Joseph Flynn. Grace’s early years were spent in New York City where she loved to dance at the Roseland Ballroom and spending time at Coney Island. In the 1950’s Grace traveled to Las Vegas and worked as a hat girl at several casinos including the historic Sands Hotel. While in Las Vegas she eventually became a bartender a trade she would continue until her retirement. In the 1960’s her journey in life brought her to Montgomery, Alabama where she worked at several different establishments. In the 1990’s she opened several of her own clubs downtown Montgomery including the Plex.
Grace was one of a kind. She had a quick wit, compassionate and had a unique way about her. She was an avid reader, loved old movies and animals. Her favorite sayings were“I’m not mainstream” and “ age is just a number”
Grace lead a long and interesting life and will be missed by many. She is survived by her daughters Denise Donald (Tom) Stacey Aldridge Searcy (Steve) 3 Grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and her fur baby “Miss Kitty”
