Krueger, James J., firstborn son of Clement and Regina Prince Krueger, died at home on October 6, 2011. He was preceded in death by his brother, Clement F. “Bud” Krueger and is survived by his wife of 63 years, Phyllis R. Jesse Krueger of Montgomery; one brother, Jerome L. Krueger of Talent, OR; three daughters, Kathryn L. (John) McCollister of Montgomery, Linda M. (Michael) Grubich of Roaring Gap, NC and Karen A. (Karel) Krueger-Sigtenhorst of Leavenworth, KS and three grandchildren, Sara K. McCollister, Brian J. Couch and Madeline H. Sigtenhorst. Mr. Krueger was born on August 16, 1928 in Wausau, WI. After graduating from Wausau High School he enlisted in the Navy where he served as a corpsman in the Pacific Theater in WWII. Upon discharge, he returned home and attended the University of Wisconsin, then moved back to Wausau, where he met and married Phyllis R. Jesse on June 5, 1948. In September 1988, he retired from Wisconsin Public Service after 35 years where he started at the Weston Power Plant, moved to the Kewaunee Nuclear Power Plant and served as a senior reactor operator and retired as the Maintenance/Operations Supervisor. He and his wife moved to Montgomery in May of 1999, where they became active members of St. Bede Parish. He was also a longtime member of the American Legion. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bede Catholic Church, 3870 Atlanta Hwy., Montgomery. Visitation will be from 9:00- 10:00 prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Bede Parish.
