Jeffrey Carl Peak, beloved family member and friend, passed away leaving behind a legacy of warmth, curiosity, and a genuine love for life’s simple joys. Known for his thoughtful soft-spoken nature and his gentle kindness toward others, Jeff touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though his illness made his last years difficult, the family takes comfort in remembering the thoughtful and gentle man they knew and loved.
Jeff was born in Montgomery where he spent most of his life. A proud graduate of Auburn University, he earned a degree in Marketing and always remained loyal to the orange and blue.
A dedicated reader and collector of books, he could often be found immersed in a new story or revisiting a well-worn favorite. His love of reading broadened his world and shaped his thoughtful, reflective nature. He had a special love for animals that brought him great comfort and companionship over the years. Jeff found joy and peace in the outdoors. His love of nature drew him to the water where he spent countless hours kayaking and fishing. He was also an avid cyclist, embracing the freedom of the open road and the quiet reflection that came with each ride. Whether paddling across a still lake, casting a line at sunrise, or cycling beneath the morning sky, Jeff found serenity in these moments and shared that sense of calm with those around him.
Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Raines Peak. He is survived by his father, Carl Peak; his stepmother, Jane Peak; his brothers, Alan Peak and Jonathan Peak; his sister, Katherine Gilchrist; and his nephew, William Gilchrist.
While he will be deeply missed, his memory will continue to inspire those who loved him.
A Visitation will be held at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home, 10505 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, AL 36117, US, on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm with a Graveside service immediately following at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association in Jeff’s memory.
