

Jerry Anne (Saiz) Kizziah passed away peacefully on October 19, 2024, at the Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama, after battling pancreatic cancer for three months. Preceded in death by her parents, Reinaldo J. Saiz and Geraldine Henson Saiz, and former brother-in-law, Scotty Ogle.
Jerry Anne was the fifth and youngest daughter of Rei and Geraldine Saiz. Because her father had a career in the Air Force, Jerry Anne was born in Ancon, Panama Canal Zone on July 21, 1958. She and her family then resided in Great Falls, Montana; Madrid; Spain; Portsmouth, New Hampshire; Eclectic, Alabama; and Minot, North Dakota. Her parents retired to Montgomery, Alabama in 1970. The family joined Dexter Avenue United Methodist Church. Jerry Anne attended Forest Avenue Elementary School, Cloverdale Junior High and graduated from Lanier High School in the Class of 1977.
She attended the University of Alabama earning her BS Degree in Psychology and her MA Degree in Special Education. Jerry Anne was part of the pilot for Alabama's Alternative Fifth Year Teacher Education Program. She was a Special Education teacher for the Tuscaloosa City Schools from 1989 to 2015. She authored a selection on "A Classroom Perspective" in the college textbook Mental Retardation in 1994.
Jerry Anne was married to Timothy Nunnally, who became the City Attorney for Tuscaloosa. They resided in Florence and Tuscaloosa, Alabama. They were married for 11 years and divorced in 1997. While living in Florence she worked as a social worker at a domestic abuse shelter and was so highly regarded that the Florence organization told the Tuscaloosa shelter to ask her to serve on the board. She was also on the Board of Directors of the Spouse Abuse Network in Tuscaloosa, which is now called Turning Point.
Jerry Anne married Eddie Daniel Kizziah in 2015, and they resided in Berry, Alabama. Eddie has two older sons, Kory Kizziah, and Ky Kizziah (Meagan). She attended Coker Church of God.
Very much like her parents, Jerry Anne was talented in the arts. After treatment for her severe arthritis, Jerry Anne was able to enjoy quilling and working with her Cricut machines. It gave her great joy sharing her crafts with family and friends.
She was very compassionate about the care and treatment of animals. Over the years she owned goldfish, guppies, exotic fish, turtles, frogs, ducks, chickens, rabbits, goats, several dogs, and many cats.
She was very devoted to her sisters and family: Paula & Eddie Bennett, Greenville, SC; Gail & Jody Rankin, Faunsdale, AL; Pat Saiz & Glenn Pack, Waco, TX; Becky & Roger Cairns, Opelika, AL. Several nieces and nephews, Scotty Ogle, Rene Ogle McCurdy, Brett Ogle, Rayanne Rankin, Reid Warm, Kimberly Rankin, Jason Helms, Rachel Rankin, Ryan Moulds, Jodi Lynn Rankin, Jason Daniels, Molly Pack, Henry Howard, Arthur Pack, and Tristan Cairns; as well as many great nieces and great nephews; Heather McCurdy, Trevor McCurdy, Madison McCurdy, Henson McCurdy, Trinity Ward, Elijah Ward, Zach Ward, Aaron Ward, Mac Helms, Jacie Helms, Anna Ryan Moulds, Rankin Moulds, Balin Daniels, Lowen Daniels, Jett Howard, Chandler Howard, and Tate Howard. Jerry Anne even has two great-great nieces; Ryleigh Schilling and Marie Balenger.

A celebration of life for Jerry Anne will be held Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home, 10505 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, AL 36117. Pallbearers will be Brett Ogle, Tristan Cairns, Arthur Pack, Trevor McCurdy, Henson McCurdy, Mac Helms, Elijah Ward, and Balin Daniels.
