He was preceded in death by his loving wife Joan Carolyn Garza.
He is survived by two daughters, Debra Sims and Laura Garza; one son, Glen Garza; one brother, Albert Garza; two sisters, Kathy Kimball and Eva Johnson; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Memorials can be made in his honor to The Wounded Warrior Project or Fannin Road Baptist Church Building Fund.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Lester officiating. Burial will follow in Alabama Heritage Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
