

She was a fun-loving person in every way. She loved her family, her church, her many friends and her sweet dogs. She was born in Tuscumbia, Ala. Nov. 5, 1930 and grew up in Montgomery before moving to Birmingham. She graduated from West End High School of Birmingham, Alabama and attended the University of Alabama. Her college years were cut short, as she returned home to care for her mother who was ill. While in Birmingham, she worked at Birmingham Trust Bank as secretary to the president, where she met the love of her life, John "Buck" Newman, Jr. After they married, Mozella and Buck moved to Scottsboro, Ala. where they lived for 36 years before returning "home" to Montgomery in 1992. Mozella was a talented cook, decorator, artist and seamstress. Nothing thrilled her like getting together with family and friends for a celebration. She loved her church and taught Sunday school for many years, loving every minute of it. She loved her husband dearly, many of their fondest memories were on the dance floor where they lit up a room. They were together for 62 wonderful years. She will live forever in the hearts of all the family and friends she touched. She was preceded in death by a son, John Haynes Newman III. She is survived by her husband: John Haynes Newman, Jr. ; two children: Robert Randolph Newman (Lynne) and Linda Ann Newman Tynan (James); Grandchildren, Robert Randolph Newman II, Natalie Newman Richaud (Benjamin), John Garrett Grayson Newman (Kayla), Matthew James Tynan (Jaimie), Scott Anthony Tynan (Ashley); Great Grandchildren, Evie Marie Richaud, Asher Elliott Miller, Jacob Scott Tynan and Benjamin Wesley Tynan. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Graveside services will be held at Pinehaven Memorial Gardens, Hollywood, AL at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 16, 2015. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
