Reverend J. Malcolm Wade

Rev. Malcolm was born on June 25, 1929, in Webb, Alabama. He was the son of the late Oliver S. Wade and Essie Mae Whiddon Wade. He was a graduate of Howard College in Birmingham, and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. His ministry began at Bethlehem Baptist in Midland City, AL. Throughout his career, Reverend Malcolm pastored many churches, including White Springs Baptist in Rainbow City, AL, Philadelphia Baptist in Phenix City, AL, and First Baptist in Cullman, AL.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ruby Holmes Wade, and his children, Mark Wade and Joy Wade Ewing. He also leaves behind two grandchildren, Gavin Wade and Lee Ewing.

Reverend Malcolm was preceded in death by his grandson, Eric Thomas Wade.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to his caregivers, especially Wendy and Quinte with SouthernCare New Beacon, and to the members of Eastmont Baptist Church in Montgomery.

Visitation will be held on June 10 at 1:00 PM at the Alabama Heritage Cemetery, 10505 Atlanta Hwy, Montgomery, AL. A service will follow at 2 PM.
