

Sandra Brill Passmore passed away peacefully on February 24, 2024 in Montgomery, Alabama. Sandra is survived by her husband Robert Passmore, son Shaun Tousignant (Mike DeMaio), stepson Chase Passmore (Sarah Carmichael), stepdaughter Stephanie Willams (Lucas) and her sister, Brenda Brill Rimmer. She was Nana to Landon Passmore, Asher, Silas, Emmanuel and John Brennan Gates. She was aunt to Lily Langford (Dillon) and Jackson Rimmer. She was 59 years old.
She is preceded in death by her parents Rev. Donald and Doris Brill, her in-laws James and Estelle Passmore, and her brother-in-law Patrick Rimmer.
Sandra grew up in several small towns in Alabama including Toulminville, Chathom, Samson, Phenix City, and Smiths Station. She was valedictorian of her graduating class at Smith Station High School. She graduated from Huntingdon College with a B.A. in Math and Accounting. She earned her Master of Accountancy (MAc) from University of Alabama at Birmingham. Sandra also earned her CPA, CMA and CFP designations.
She worked in the accounting and manufacturing industries. She began her career as an accountant at Jackson Thornton CPA firm, then she moved to GKN Industries where she was Assistant Controller, then moved to Giles Enterprises as CFO then to President.
Sandra bravely faced her September 24, 2021 stage IV glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) terminal cancer diagnosis each day with grace and dignity. She lived with the GBM for 28 months and was part of 2 clinical trials at UAB, where she surpassed all medical expectations. Every day was special and she was thankful for each, always giving glory to God even through the tough obstacles she endured. She was a warrior, living up to her motto of #SandraStrong. Her favorite verse was Phillippians 4:6-7.
She was a faithful follower and servant of Jesus Christ. She was a member of The Church at Eastern Oaks. Throughout her life, she was part of many ministries and outreaches. She enjoyed connecting with people and sharing the Gospel. She was involved with Inner City Evangelism and was a small group leader for many years.
She loved to travel, hike, and spend time with family and friends. Her laughter was contagious and she always had an encouraging word to share. Her proudest role was Nana. She loved swimming, playing, and planning outings with the grandkids.
Sandra’s Celebration of Life will be Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 1:00 pm with visitation at 12:30 pm at The Church at Eastern Oaks, 7505 Wares Ferry Road, Montgomery, AL 36117. Donations can be made to Glioblastoma Donations at glioblastomafoundation.org or donate.cancer.org.
