Sherrill Keith “Dusty” Rhodes was born on October 13, 1939 in Hendersonville, NC to Mrs. Irene Rhodes. He gave his life to the Lord at an early age after a close brush with death at home one night after a church service.
In 1959, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Little Rock, AK where he would meet the love of his life, Rita D. Mathews, who became his wife of 64 years.
Keith went on to serve 20 years and 1 day in the Air Force, and over 20 years with Unisys Corporation until his retirement in 2000.
He was a dedicated member of Santuck Baptist Church as a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Hospital Ministry.
He lived by the words of Proverbs 17:22, “A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones”.
Keith Rhodes loved having fun, spreading the joy and the love of Jesus everywhere he went.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Keith will be held Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Santuck Baptist Church, 6868 Central Plank Rd, Wetumpka, AL 36092.
A Graveside Service on a separate day will follow on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 2:30 PM at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home & Cemetery, 10505 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, AL 36117.
