Bro. Mitchell was raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. By his own testimony, he was called into the ministry at the age of eight when he saw a vision of Jesus coming in clouds of glory. His entire life has been devoted to serving the Lord. He was born again according to Acts 2:38 at the age of ten. He married Shirley in 1971, received a Bachelor of Theology from Texas Bible College in 1972 (Student Body President), and was ordained into the ministry in 1973 with the United Pentecostal Church International. He was a successful bi-vocational pastor who pastored in Louisiana and Alabama before founding New Testament Christian Center and Fiberglass Repair in Montgomery, Alabama in 1981 where he served as pastor, then bishop until his passing.
While his accomplishments as a pastor, business owner, author, and much more are many, his greatest earthly sense of accomplishment was that all of his children and grandchildren (from the age of accountability and up) for four generations have received the Holy Ghost and have been baptized in Jesus Name.
The visitation will be Saturday, September 2, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
