

Jim is preceded in death by Carol, his loving wife of nearly 40 years, his three sisters, Elaine Willis, Ruth DePoala and Jean Strong, his nephew Michael Strong, his mother Mary Scott West and his father Abbott West.
Jim is survived by his daughters Lisa West-Hayslip and Lora West-Kelly, two step-daughters Susan Pappas (Mike) and Janie Crochet, his grandchildren Joshua West-Armond, Sean Kelly Jr. (Staci), Austin Kelly, Meghan Kelly, Bernie Sauce Jr. (Hayley), Alexandra Pappas, Logan Crochet, three great grandsons Sean Kelly III – Tripp, Graham Kelly and Blake Sauce, two great granddaughters Kaitlyn Sauce and Sophie Maas, two nephews Leonard DePoala and Jeff Strong, along with 2 nieces Cindy Ingraham-Hoenig (Guy) and Jana Rochette, a great niece Michelle Rochette and numerous life long friends.
In 1956 Jim served in the Air Force creating a life long love of flying and airplanes. Jim moved to the Patterson LA area in 1973 where he worked as a Master Electrician and Inspector. He later added to this resume by becoming an aircraft mechanic and Pilot due to his love of flying. He purchased his own small plane and flew out of the Patterson Airport for many years. He loved flying in his plane, riding motorcycles and tinkering with just about anything. If he couldn’t fix it, it probably couldn’t be fixed.
A memorial service for Jim will be held on Saturday, August 26th at REDEEMED LIFE FELLOWSHIP located at 4042 US Hwy 90, Patterson, LA 70392 at 2:00 PM CST. The memorial will be presided over by Pastor Ronnie Mabile. All friends and family are welcome to attend. We would love to see you there and share all our memories.
