Maria was the heart and soul of her family — the glue that held everyone together with unwavering love, strength, and devotion. Her children and grandchildren were her entire world, and she fiercely protected and cherished them with the tender spirit of a mother bear. Proud of her Italian heritage, Maria’s passion and fierce love were impossible to miss, especially when it came to defending or caring for her family. For 37 wonderful years, she and her beloved husband built a beautiful life together grounded in love, laughter, and family. Though they often shared playful bickering, they were always united when it came to their children, putting family above all else. While Maria was unable to have children of her own, she always considered herself deeply blessed by God to have been gifted four incredible children and later, two precious grandchildren who brought endless joy to her life. She never missed an opportunity to celebrate them , attending every milestone, victory, heartbreak, and ordinary moment with the same enthusiasm and unconditional love, no matter the distance. Maria was their loudest and proudest cheerleader, her voice always strong, spirited, and filled with love.
Outside of her family, Maria found joy in caring for her beloved pet birds, creating stunning stained-glass art by hand, tending to her breathtaking garden, and indulging in one of her favorite pastimes...shopping. Gifted with the greenest of thumbs, she once grew a magnolia tree from a tiny seed into one now towering above her home... a living reflection of the love and care she poured into everything around her. Her devoted husband lovingly built her an aviary for her cherished birds, and together, alongside her many beloved cats, they created a home that was always a place of comfort and refuge....as warm, vibrant, and beautiful as Maria herself.
Those left to cherish Maria's beautiful memory are her husband, Jules Anthony Heymann; four children she raised as her own, Vincent Anthony Heymann, Hanson Michael Cutrera, Marilynn Elizabeth Bailey, and Jacquelynn Victoria Bailey; two grandbabies, Lyla Leigh and Emry Jae. She is also survived by her two sisters, Laura Lynn Cutrera and Deidra Cutrera Verdin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was reunited in heaven with her parents, Anthony Joseph Cutrera Sr. and Carole Hanson Cutrera and her brothers, Anthony "Boo" Joseph Cutrera Jr. and Michael Cutrera.
