A simple man, Wayne didn’t need much; a good bowl of red beans and rice, a friend to talk, a clearance aisle to stroll down, and family to love. We believe he would tell you he had more than enough! All, except the love of his life, Barbara, and exactly 10 years to the day since the two were separated, he returned to her side. We will not mourn your passing, you are where you wished to be. Those of us still here to ponder your cooky, caring legacy will forever be grateful for the time spent and the stories told. We love you and take it easy. Also, please use your fork and don’t take too many mints.
Those left to cherish Wayne’s memory is his son, Trinity Benton and his wife, Megan; his daughters, Dawn Shepard and her husband, Ben, and Kristi Benton and her fiancé, Randy Wilkerson; his four grandchildren, Leigh, Aviyah, Rivkah, and Teagan; and his sister, Debra Merchant.
Wayne was greeted in heaven by the love of his life, Barbara Letlow Benton; his mother, Luna Olivier Moore; his step father, Buster Moore and his infant brother.
Since Wayne had an aversion to funerals, we’ll just be hanging out and getting some food at Fezzo’s in Scott on December 31st at 1pm. Come in your comfiest blue jeans or whadavya!
