

It is with loving hearts that we remember Vernona, a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She led a simple and sweet life, filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Her humor was infectious, and she had a remarkable ability to bring a smile to anyone’s face.
Vernona had a special passion for football, especially for her LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints. It was a tradition for her to call her family & friends every Saturday and Sunday, ensuring they stayed connected to her favorite teams and the sport that she cherished. No one could resist her spirited reminders for upcoming games.
Her love for her family was evident in everything she did, and her presence will be deeply missed. Vernona’s joyful spirit, her laughter, and her unwavering love for those around her will remain in our hearts forever.
Loved ones left to cherish Vernona's wonderful memory are her three children, Angela Johnson and her husband, Dennis, Darlene LeBlanc, and Michael Marsh; her siblings, Arlene, Nickey, Mary, Paul, and Beth; her grandchildren, Amber and Austin LeBlanc, Trish McChargue, Brandon Johnson, Marie, Samantha and Sarah Marsh, and Jessica Luhman; her great grandchildren, Lyle Johnson and Kase Johnson.

A memorial time of visitation will be observed on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 9am until time of services at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Amelia, LA. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Vernona on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 11am at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Amelia, LA. Following services, Vernona will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery in Morgan City, LA.
