Bernard “Bernie” McMillan, age 82 of West Olive, formerly of Muskegon and Hesperia, passed away on October 22, 2017 at Appledorn of Holland. Bernie served his country proudly in the army. Following his service, he worked as a machine operator at Rem Die-Cast, Vanderby Cabinets, and Holland Wire Products. In his retirement, Bernie enjoyed tending to his horses, traveling with his beloved wife, and taking trips to the casino. Bernie was preceded in death by his sons Don McMillan, and Ken McMillan. He is survived by his wife of nearly 62 years, Minnie; Children: Jackie (Mark) Schaap, Jerry McMillan; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; Brothers and sister-in-law: Bill “Henry” Deridder, Mike Deridder, Barb Deridder. The family will be gathering privately to honor Bernie. Burial will take place at Fruitland Township Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Ever Rest Funeral Home and Cremation Chapel, Muskegon, MI.
