Dear Mrs. Hage and Family,
In 1968/69, I was a college student employed by the Muskegon Parks and Recreation Department for  both  summers. I vividly recall Gerry as one who could could literally fix  anything  and solve any maintenance problem that he was given. He had an excellent reputation and was well respected by everyone....including me. Obviously, this made and impression on me..which is why I am sending this note.

Dear Edna and Dee..Today the nation mornes, a Vet has past away. Just talked to Jerry last week over the fence. Usually I just holler over Hi when I see him coming or going. That day after he watered the flowers he walked over to the fence. He leaned on it and I leaned on my crutches. We talked for almost a half hour and then he said he had to go in or Edna would worry about him. I will miss him. He was the MOST. God bless you all.

Aunt Edna,  so sorry to hear of uncle Geralds passing.  May it bring comfort to Know he is in a better place.  Our Prayers are with you.

Dear Mrs. Hage & Dee. I'm so sad to learn of Mr. Hage's death. I saw him with Dee leaving Herbies a couple of weeks ago,I wish we would have been a minute sooner. Dear Aunt Edna & Deitra:  I'm so glad we had a chance to have a nice long visit with your dad last year when I was back in Muskegon.  Uncle Gerald had such a great sense of humor (which I think has been passed on to Dee) and such a warm gentle spirit.  Was always impressed how he kept up on everything. He was such a neat person and we will all miss him greatly.  But praise God, we know we will see him again.  My prayers are with all of you.
