Janet Marie Hoffman, age 70 of Muskegon, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2014. Janet was born on December 23, 1943 in Muskegon to parents Richard and Pauline (Bringedahl) Poort. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dick (Gail) Poort. Janet is survived by her children, Randal (Debbie) Midkiff, Shelly (Michael) Robinson, and Eric Midkiff; grandchildren, Devon Midkiff, Nichole (Josh) Piper, Nick Parmer, Bobbie Jo Stenberg, Jamie (Anthony) Gallegos, Dominic Midkiff, Jeffrey Holman, and Jasmine Johnson; great grandchildren, Kaylie, Cole, Kayden, Makenzie, Gabriel, and Lyndon; her siblings, Connie (Raymond) VanNett, Scott (Betty) Poort, Ron (Margaret) Poort, and Jim (Kathy) Poort; and her beloved dog Jazz. A graveside service will take place at 1:00pm on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Norton Cemetery (Norton Shores, MI). Officiating will be Pastor Bob Whitlock. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Mercy VNS & Hospice.
