

Mary married her love, Eugene Sprague, on September 20, 1952. The couple spent many wonderful years together. In her younger years, Mary loved to dance. She was a very good dancer, often better than most. She liked to listen to music, especially the “Oldies”. She was great at organization, and was brilliant with numbers. She could do any math problem in her head. Mary was a very calm and soft spoken woman, but she did have a wild side. She had strong determination, and was very tenacious. Mary was a very loving and caring women who will be dearly missed.
Mary was preceded in death by: parents, Leroy and Laura Browers; husband, Eugene Sprague; daughter, Valerie; brothers, Jack, Leroy Jr., and Jerry; special friend, Ernest Pfeiffer; brothers in law; James Sprague, Allan Hathaway, Paul Bush, and Harold Miller; sister in law, Barbara Smedley; as well as son in law, Donald Maitland.
Mary is survived by: children, Kathy Maitland (Dick), Jacquelyn Medendorp (Mike), Ronald, Pamela (Bob), Donnie, and Mark (Wendy); grandchildren, Nathan, Amy, Jenny (Jeff), Corey (Adam), and Jessica (Jimmy); great grandchildren, Dagan, Ava, Sean, Alivia, Jake, Ava, Addilyn, Ayden, Amy, Ian, and Nevaeh; brothers, Ed (Janet) Browers, and Clifford Smedley; sisters, Betty Sprague, Joyce Hathaway, Beverly Miller, and Cindy (Galen) Horne; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to Aunt Bev Miller, Bonnie Varboncoeur, Cindy Thompson, Ellen Wiseman, Ashley Patton and Lisa Basham for caring for Mary.
A Visitation will take place from 1:00pm-2:00pm on Saturday, February 19, 2022 with a Memorial Service, officiated by Pastor Bill Fillmore, to follow. A catered luncheon will be held after the service. All services are being held at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel, 1783 E. Keating Ave. Muskegon, MI 49442.
