Ricky (Rick) Allen VanLue passed away on May 4, 2019 after a tough battle with cancer. Rick was born in South Bend, Indiana to Warren and Betty (Smith) Van Lue. He moved to Wolf Lake at a young age and attended Oakridge Schools. On August 7, 1982, he married his best friend, Teresa Foltynewicz, and they raised 5 kids together in Muskegon. Rick worked at Eagle Alloy for about 20 years, and retired from TGW after 20 years. Rick was a very loving and devoted husband and father. He coached his kids' little league baseball teams and never missed a game or concert. That devotion continued into the lives of his grandchildren as well. Rick loved sports. He loved playing, watching, and attending games. Sundays were always spent with family and friends watching the Lion's game, and if there was a Tiger's game on, you just knew he was watching. His love for sports was only trumped by his love and obligation to his family. He set an example to many of what a man and father represents.
Rick will be deeply missed by his wife, Teresa. His children, Jeff, James, Kelli, Ricki, and Hunter. His Grandchildren, Trinity, Kamry, and Korey. Chris (Crystal) Bailard, Ashley (Dean) Tennison, Jodi Heck, and Jordan Bailard. His brothers, Gary and Dale, and sisters, Candice and Cheryl. Brothers in law, Steve Foltynewicz, Leo (Deb) Foltynewicz, John Foltynewicz. Sisters in law, Linda (Jim) Lewis, Sue Taylor, Pat (Kurt) Linderman, Cathy (Randy) Brenny, and Linda (Kevan) Sower. As well as many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other lives he has touched along the way.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Kathy Sharp, and twin grandbabies, Derick and Destiny.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 1pm at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 6pm to 8pm and one hour prior to service, Thursday, May 9.
