Timothy Alan Girven Jr.

Timothy Alan Girven, Jr., age 33 of Grand Rapids, passed away Monday January 25, 2016. Tim was born May 15, 1982 in Muskegon to Timothy Alan Girven Sr. and Lori Thies. He attended Oakridge High School. Family meant everything to Tim and he loved spending time with them. He regularly attended his nieces and nephews sporting events, and played horseshoes with his brothers and dad. He loved to hunt, fish, and watch sports, particularly the Lions and the Lakers. He will be fondly remembered as a self-proclaimed rapper and for his ability to make campfires, the bigger the better. Tim is survived by his children, Gage and Gunnar Girven; parents, Lori (Brent) Thies, and Tim Sr. (Sharon) Girven; brothers, Wesley (Amanda) Girven, Chuck (Becca) Passenier, Jason (Kandy) McNally, and Cody Anderson; sister, Lindsy Anderson; grandfather, Paul DeNio Sr.; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Brent Thies Jr.; and his sister, April Passenier. A service for Tim will be Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 2pm at Kainay Community Church; 3387 Heights Ravenna Rd in Muskegon. There will be time for gathering one hour prior to the service; beginning at 1pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
