Willard Max Fremd, age 93, of Muskegon, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025. Willard was born on April 8, 1932, to Orley and Hazel Fremd in Shelby, MI. He worked as a landscaper and did marine construction.
He married the love of his life, Donna Gowell, on July 31, 1953. Willard loved the Detroit Tigers and went to many games and would often go to Florida to see their spring training. For over 30 years, he spent the winter in Florida to escape the Michigan cold. Willard enjoyed traveling, playing cribbage with friends and family, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family. He owned a small business landscaping for the community and attended Community United Methodist Church. He was sad to lose his cat, Henry, in April after more than a decade with him.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Donna; son, Dale Fremd; and siblings, Harold Fremd, Lawrence Fremd, and Richard Fremd.
Willard is survived by his children, Michael Fremd (Kathy), Brenda Belmer, and Shelly Rattin (Larry); grandchildren, Jerrica Warner, Warren Witham, Crystal Schmuck (Cory), Brandon Fremd (Ashley), Jake Rattin (Jessica), and Shelby Rattin; several great-grandchildren, and many loving family and friends.
A Funeral Service will take place at 11am on Friday July 11, 2025 at Community United Methodist Church with Visitation an hour prior.
