On July 6, 2026, surrounded by her family, Daphne June Brooks (Mum), left us after a lengthy journey with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was notably a woman ahead of her time finding exercise, yoga and healthy eating back in the sixties. She was a regular face at the Lifestyles gym and an active member at North Nanaimo Senior Ladies walking group. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Albert Gerald Brooks (Gerry). She and Gerry spent their leisure time every year on Maui as she craved the sun and the beach. It was her happy place.
She leaves 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren who each have special memories and moments with her to remember and cherish. Her children Donna (Frank), Diana and Dennis (Dianne) wish to acknowledge and thank the staff at Eden Gardens (Balsam) for her care over the last four years and the palliative care team for their tenderness and care during her final hours. Her passing will leave a void in the lives of everyone she knew and loved.
