Denis Lajeunesse

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one Denis Lajeunesse on November 28, 2023.

Denis was born in Spiritwood, Saskatchewan, January 26, 1938. His parents, Edward and Yvonne Lajeunesse moved the family to the Alberni Valley when he was nine years old. He was the eldest of eight children.

He met and married Lynda, his wife of nearly 65 years and together they raised two daughters, Dennise and Laurie (Ron) and their late son Michael. He has five grandchildren: Kristina, Troy, Courtenay, Karlee and Jayden; four great-grandchildren: Isla, Silas, Baker and Austin; and many nieces and nephews.

Our family will always hold dear the Michael Bay Oyster farm chapter of their live as it was a wonderful experience.

Denis was a dedicated volunteer with the Alberni Valley Rescue Squad for more than twenty years. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, moose caller and fisherman.

Denis started his working years at Sayward, B.C. in the logging industry and although he made a living as a skilled automotive mechanic, his real passion was carpentry and always had a new project in mind that he couldn’t wait to get to.

There will be no funeral services as per Denis’ wishes.
