She was born December 3, 1926 in a little town in Alberta called Castor to Lynn and Helen Dye.
She married her best friend and the love of her life, Donald Arthur Jacobson, in July of 1948.
Dorothy loved being around her family. Family was everything to her. It brought her great joy. She loved doing needlework as a hobby until her eyes could no longer see the tiny stitches. She had a great love for gardening and flowers of all kind. She had a green thumb. Her yard was always filled with many varieties of flowers, from roses, to tulips, to begonias. Dorothy had a great love for horses and cats.
Dorothy had a great love for God and had very strong moral values. She was a person who never complained and had a love for everyone, always finding the good in whomever she saw.
She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Donald, in 1994 and her son Donald William in March of 1959.
She will be lovingly remembered by her two sisters, Margaret and Barbara; children Joan Elaine (Doug), Dennis Elmer (Rebecca), John Arthur, Linda Corrine (Pierre), Robert Donald (Shelly), Edward Neil (Juliet), Donna Leigh (Will); grandchildren Sheryl, Shaun, Shane, Wesley, David, Michael, Adam, Kathleen, Randy, Mardi, Anna, Nicolas and Charlene; great-grandchildren Ian, Andy, Courtney, Lukas, Ryan, Avery, Joffrey and Isla; and her many nieces and nephews . All of these she touched deeply.
