Florence Ingram died peacefully in her sleep April 6, 2017 at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, with family at her side. Florence had just celebrated her 102nd birthday, marking a life of grace and compassion. Born in Manville, Alberta, she also lived in Winnipeg, where she raised her children Lea, Don and Rob, before moving to Toronto and eventually retiring to Nanaimo with husband Herbert in 1976. A creative soul, she loved adventuring in her earlier years. Florrie was a dedicated member of Brechin United Church where a celebration of her life was held on April 10. She is survived by her three sons Lea (Lovey), Don (Ethel) and Rob (Helene); four grandchildren Daniel (Danielle), Megan (David), Emily (Gareth), and Joelle; and three great grandchildren. The love and support of the Braid family and her dear friends are deeply cherished. Her family are very grateful to the staff at Berwick on the Lake and the staff on the sixth floor and palliative care units at the Nanaimo Regional Hospital for their tenderness and compassion. Memorial gifts can be made in Florrie's name to the Nanaimo and District Hospital Foundation.
