Frank Gregg was born in October 1930 in New York City and died September 2026 in Nanaimo BC and in between those two significant dates, he lived a good life.
As a young boy Frank moved to Ontario from New York with his mother and younger sister Peggy. After a number of months, the family including his father moved west to settle in Calgary. After high school Frank attended Old’s College thinking at this time that a life of farming or ranching was in his future, but after graduating he decided to join the Canadian Airforce. It was when he was on leave, he took a short trip to New York to visit extended family that he met Theresa. Now their fathers knew each other in Ireland and so Frank & Theresa had meet when they were very young. He remembered that during their first meeting at the age of three years, found she was a bit bossy. On their second meeting twenty years later, all must have been forgotten as they were married in 1953 and spent 63 yrs together.
It was at this time Frank decided to resign from commission in the Airforce, and move to Calgary and started working for Shell Oil Co.
Together Frank & Theresa raised a family with 5 children, that included a typical Canadian life included camping, family and with the occasional motorcycle club moving in next door from time to time.
After 25 yrs. Frank retired from Shell and would move with Theresa to Nanaimo to be by the sea, after the kids had grown and moved on with their lives. This would lead to the inclusion of many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The Nanaimo years were good with a new house large enough for the extended family and Frank to start a small appliance repair business.
As is the case, time moves on and in 2016 Frank’s beloved Theresa passed away.
Over the next 10 years, Frank remained living in the home he and Theresa shared, with the help of his family, only having to move into a supported living situation in 2025.
Throughout the years Frank has lived a life in thought, word and good deed. A humble man with integrity which will be missed by many.
Frank is survived by his children Frances (Brian), Elizabeth, Bernadette (Michael), Michael, Christopher (Linda) 11 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren. May be rest in Peace.
