At the age of 84, Mike passed away peacefully at NRGH, with family by his side. Prior to his death, Mike had a wonderful day with most of his immediate family visiting him. Predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years, Alice, and son Gerry. Mike was one of a kind, who lived his life on his own terms. He was the eternal optimist, who always saw the good in people. Fiercely devoted to his family, he was the life of the party, with a great sense of humor, and quick wit which he maintained right to the day he died. Material possessions, jobs, travel, money, came secondary to family and friends. Sports, played a huge part in his life, as a long time volunteer coach, administrator, field attendant, and keen spectator. His greatest joy came from following his son’s and grandson’s numerous athletic endeavours. He leaves behind Son’s Dan (Teresa), and Doug (Joni), 7 grandson’s, and 2 great grandkids. Despite his declining health in the last few years of his life, he appreciated and enjoyed the wonderful care and attention he received by all of the health professionals. In particular Dr. Booth, Dr. Robinson, and the staff’s at both Dialysis units. According to Mike’s wishes there will be no service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
