Nick faced his health challenges with remarkable courage, resilience, and dignity. In his final days, he was surrounded by friends, family, and colleagues whose visits, many traveling from afar reflected the deep and lasting impact he had on the lives of others.
Serving families was not just a career for Nick, it was his calling. As a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, and as the owner Williamson Transfer Services, he dedicated his life to supporting people through some of their most difficult moments. For over 50 years, he helped care for families with compassion, respect, and an unwavering sense of duty. He believed deeply in being there when people needed it most, and he lived that belief every day.
Nick was known for his willingness to help anyone, at any time. If you had his number, you knew he would answer day or night, and do everything he could to make things right. He said that if he could choose any superpower, it would be to make everyone happy, and in so many ways, that is exactly what he spent his life trying to do.
Above all, Nick will be remembered as being generous , a loyal friend, and someone who truly showed up for others. His legacy is one of kindness, strength, and genuine human connection.
Nick is lovingly remembered by his dear friend Kathryn Dell and her children, William, Eli, Matthew, Rachelle; his son David (Hardeep, Priya); his daughter Tara (Steve, Jill, Kendryk, Anna); and his lifelong friend and former spouse, Cynthia; sister Dora(Rick), brother Teddy and all of his Ontario family.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the team at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, especially the staff of the palliative care unit, for their compassion, professionalism, and care during Nick’s final days.
