Steve passed away peacefully in Nanaimo Palliative Care after a brief stay.
He is predeceased by his parents Vera and Ken Harrison and survived by his wife of 50 years Linda, his daughter Kathy (Bart), and grandson Nicholas.
Steve’s life was varied and full, he apprenticed as a welder at Vancouver Ironworks but later decided he didn't want to spend his life under a welding helmet. He joined the Vancouver Fire Department in 1964 and during his 31 years with the VFD made many great friends and never regretted his choice career. After retiring, he decided to go log salvaging and loved those 7 years because he was out on the ocean.
He loved boats, fishing and hunting, above all he loved his friends. Being an only child, he cherished their friendship and spent a lifetime enjoying adventures and fun with them.
He will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
