It is with deep sadness we announce Sylvia's passing on July 18th.
Born in St. Albert on October 19, 1976, Sylvia lived her life fully and unapologetically on her own terms.
Known for her big personality, fun loving adventurous spirit, love of animals and strong sense of justice, she was loyal to her friends, had a quick wit and was incredibly generous.
Before she settled down in Nanaimo for her nursing studies, she loved a full and adventurous life travelling, mostly hitchhiking from Port Hardy to Quebec, Alaska, Oregon and Mexico while working in a variety of jobs from cooking in camps, mushroom picking, waitressing to working with horses on a ranch and making lifelong friends wherever she went.
In her last years she lived her life's dream by working as a nurse in remote communities in Nunavut and the NWT.
She was very much loved and will be greatly missed by family and friends. Her memory will be carried forward in stories shared and every laugh remembered.
