

Barry Skipp, 71, of Naples, Florida passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025 at North Collier Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born August 5, 1953 in Stamford, Connecticut the son of Jack and Violet Skipp.
After high school Barry served in the US Army. He worked for Autotote for 30 years and moved to Destin and joined Destin Waters users, the went to Eglin Air Force Base after years of service working in water operations.
Known for his adventurous spirit and generous heart, Barry lived a life full of joy, connection, and purpose.
A lifelong enthusiast of metal detecting, he found great happiness in uncovering hidden treasures along the shorelines—a hobby that perfectly blended his love for the beach with a curious mind and patient soul. Barry also had a talent for woodworking.
More than anything, Barry will be remembered for his deep love for people. In every room, he was the one to spark a conversation, lend a hand, and lift the mood. Whether helping a neighbor with a project, volunteering time, or simply offering a kind word, Barry made a lasting impact on everyone he met.
He retired to SW Florida as Barry said with a huge smile “I am finally living the dream baby!” and he did. He moved to Landmark Community, where he worked in maintenance, and found his dream indeed.
Barry was preceded in death by his parents, Violet and Jack Skipp, brother, Phillip Skipp, and brother in law, Randy Fisher.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Peggy Skipp, son, Jeff Skipp, step-daughter Renee (Abel) Gaza. Grandchildren, Candice, David, Rachel, Lisa, Benny, Gavin, Jacob. Great-grandchildren, Kenzie, Cayden, Carson, Mayla and siblings, Jane (Tom) Breslin, Heather Fisher, Shelia (Larry) Zinkerman, Violet Skipp, Timothy (Jean) Skipp, Steven (Christine) Skipp.
He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, creativity, and community spirit that will be deeply missed.
