Spacious and light-filled funeral home

Lobby at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial GardensWhen you walk through the doors of our beautiful funeral home, we want you to feel like you’ve stepped into a fine Florida resort. From our welcoming lobby to our versatile event spaces, each room in the facility is designed to make guests feel comfortable and calm and encourages them to mingle and share stories about the loved one being celebrated.

Our funeral home can accommodate funeral and memorial services for groups of almost any size. Each of our 3 rooms is beautifully decorated and has a unique look and feel. Our largest venue is the Vanderbilt Room. Instead of traditional pews, the room is set up more like a living room, with couches, round tables and comfortable chairs—ideal for Life Well Celebrated® ceremonies. The Founders Room is better suited for more intimate gatherings and has round tables that can be configured in a variety of ways. Finally, the Wine Room is an excellent space for informal gatherings. Modeled to look like a wine cellar or tasting room, this venue would be the envy of any oenophile!

We can coordinate with a professional catering service of your choice for any of our venues.

Let’s celebrate life

Reception room at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial GardensWe believe that every life is unique and deserves to be celebrated in a special way. Our funeral directors work with you to design a service that reflects your or your loved one's unique personality and passions.

Did grandpa have a green thumb? We can decorate the Vanderbilt Room with his favorite plants and give guests personalized seed packets as mementos. Did mom make incredible pasta dishes? We can arrange to have a spaghetti dinner—with the secret family recipe for her tomato sauce—in our Founders Room. And if you’d prefer a more traditional or religious service, we are happy to do that too.

It all starts with a story. We'll take it from there.

On-site crematory

Hodges Funeral Home has a private on-site crematory, which means your loved one never leaves our care.

Cremation is important in certain religions and cultures, and more and more people are choosing cremation over more traditional burial options, but most people aren’t familiar with all of their choices when it comes to cremation. You may choose a direct cremation without a funeral or memorial service of any kind; a funeral with the body present, followed by cremation; or a cremation followed by a cemetery service or a celebration of life.

If you wish, cremated remains can be interred at Naples Memorial Gardens.

History

Lobby at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial GardensThe story of Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens starts in 1962, when Earl Hodges and his wife, Thelma, opened the Earl G. Hodges Funeral Chapel on Tamiami Trail in Naples. Business started off slow, but over the years, it grew and thrived, becoming one of the foremost funeral homes in Southwest Florida. In 2004, to better serve the Naples community, a new funeral home was built on the grounds of Naples Memorial Gardens, a cemetery on 111th avenue that was established in the 1950s by a group of Naples businessmen.

A pioneering couple

Lobby at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial GardensEarl and Thelma were pioneers in Southwest Florida. They moved to the area in the late 1950s and became pillars of the community. In addition to establishing the funeral home and being active members of numerous community organizations and groups, the couple donated $12 million to International College, which was renamed Hodges University in 2007 in recognition of their generous gift. The philanthropic couple was so well-known and beloved by the Collier County community that for funeral home’s 50th anniversary, the Naples City Council declared August 2012 as “Earl & Thelma Hodges Month.”

Honoring our legacy

Earl passed away in 2013, but Thelma and the entire team at Hodges Funeral Home carry on his legacy of compassionate care. We are committed to serving every family with respect, honor and dignity and strive to be as pioneering as our extraordinary founders.

Sunset Beach cremation garden

Water feature at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial GardensWe are best known for Sunset Beach, a Naples-themed garden within the cemetery. Beautifully landscaped with flowers, shrubs and trees, this area also has representations of the iconic elements of life in Southwest Florida—the Naples Pier, a sandy beach, starfish and dolphins. This unique garden was specially designed for those who choose cremation, with every element an option for memorialization, from the chairs to the trellis and even the sand dollars. Additionally, Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens often performs outdoor memorial services on the pier.

Sunrise Mausoleum I and II

Sunrise Courtyard MausoleumSunrise Mausoleum I is a stunning open-air mausoleum for families who choose above-ground entombment or inurnment. The arched walkways and red-tiled roof echo the architecture of Hodges Funeral Home, creating a sense of harmony and symmetry. The mausoleum backs into Sunrise Courtyard, which has a lovely fountain as its focal point as is surrounded by beautiful hedge estates and custom memorials.

Sunrise Courtyard MausoleumSunrise Mausoleum II is now in development at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens. Available for presale, the new mausoleum will be built adjacent to Sunrise I. A counterpart and complement that will give even more families above-ground options, the new building will be an elegant addition to what is perhaps one of the most desirable memorialization properties in Florida. If you’ve been considering purchasing mausoleum space, your timing is impeccable. We’re currently taking reservations for future crypt or niche memorialization.

We invite you to explore the options for a truly memorable tribute by coming to see our beautiful cemetery for yourself. You are welcome to visit anytime. Call us to schedule a guided tour.
