

Spence was born on February 14th, 1950 in Blue Hill, Maine to Mildred Elizabeth (Hutchinson) and Carroll M. Spencer, Sr. He attended Princeton High School and then went on to Ocean County Community College. Spence was in the Naval Reserves and served aboard the USS WASP as a Plane Captain. He was a member of IBEW Local 456 and retired from Collier County Government as an electrical inspector.
Spence enjoyed sprint car racing, fishing, biking and vacationing in the Great Smoky Mountains. He was an avid football and baseball fan and loved watching the Washington Redskins on game day. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and their furry animals. He truly loved all creatures great and small.
Spence leaves behind his loving wife of 49 years, Dana Lynn, his children Holly Elizabeth (Luis) Mendoza, Scott Michael (Emily) Spencer and Daniel Aaron (Ashley) Spencer. He was the beloved Papa to Ethan (Amanda), Elexis (Luis), Elijah, Charlotte, Theo, baby Samuel Michael, Cece, Drew and great grandson Noel. He is also survived by his Brother-in-Law Denis Capece, nephews Douglas Spencer and Stephen Spencer and many beloved Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends.
Spence was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred Elizabeth (Hutchinson) and Carroll M. Spencer, Sr., his beloved brother John Spencer, his Father-in-Law Donato Capece and Mother-in-Law Dolores Capece.
A celebration of Spence’s life will be held on Saturday, October, 30th at 10AM at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens.
