October 10, 1956 – April 13, 2023
Naples, Florida
Dorothy Louise Kibria was born in Cleveland, Ohio to John and Ann Flanigan. After graduating from St. Augustine’s Academy, she moved to Miami where she met her husband, Dr. Eshan Malik Kibria, whom she married in 1983.
Dorothy and Eshan were true soul mates who shared a love story for over 40 years. They were married in Miami and later moved to Naples, where she co-owned and managed a neurology practice with her husband.
Dorothy’s greatest love was her family, including her husband Eshan, her sisters Mary Ann, Patricia, and Doris; her four children, Sean, Shannon, Fawn, and Alex; her grandson Eshan; and her daughter-in-law Patty. She also loved animals, including her horse Dansk, goats, chickens, fish, and dog Lilly.
Dorothy was a woman of many interests. She enjoyed nature photography, particularly taking pictures of flowers, and baking, and made a truly excellent cheesecake. She never met a stranger and she made friends everywhere she went, including at her favorite grocery store Publix. She also enjoyed music and dancing.
When she was at home, she enjoyed watching horror movies and General Hospital.
She was beautiful, smart, caring, proud, loving, devoted, generous, and full of life, but she was also stubborn and a fierce fighter. She was a source of strength to lean on. Most of all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She always made time for her family and friends.
Dorothy is survived by her husband Eshan; her four children Sean (Patty), Shannon, Fawn, and Alex; her grandson Eshan; and her four siblings Mary Ann Budzick, Patricia (David) Downs, Doris Moore, and John (Marty) Flanigan.
A visitation for Dorothy will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service that will begin at 12:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Naples Memorial Gardens, 525 111th Ave N, Naples, FL 34108.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 5433 Westheimer Rd #300, Houston, TX 77056; https://www.lls.org/.
