Frank grew up on a dairy farm in Lavonia NY with his 7 sisters and 4 brothers. They were a very hard working , loving family until frank tragically stepped on a rusty nail. He ended up with lock jaw but miraculously survived. The Dr. told him he needed to go to a warm climate to recuperate since it was the middle of February so he, his then pregnant wife Barbara and 2 sons moved to Naples Fl. In 1958
his brother Jim had moved there a few years before so started working for him at his Sunoco station which now is Tin City. In the 1960’s he opened his own Sunoco on 41 and central Av. Where he grew a successful business and built many lifetime relationships. He was well liked by all.. he was a man of his word and a hand shake was gold with him. He would help anyone when they were down ; if they needed tires, a battery or a tow, he was there. Pay when you have it years later he moved across the street and opened Frank’s Citgo which was soon bought out to become Frank’s Mobil , lots of ups and downs in life but eventually frank met Gail and married again Eventually acquiring Frank’s Union 76 on 41 and 12th (now known as Frank’s pure ( lotta stations!!) Son Vince took over when he retired 20 years ago at 70 he was known for his friendly 50’s era customer service many will remember with each fill up you got a vacuum, oil check and wind shield cleaned . A tradition carried on to this day . It explains the incredible work ethic he instilled in his children. Frank wasn’t a major talker but his character and actions shined through that everyone that crossed his path will deeply miss him. May he RIP
A special thank you to Jen for unwavering care for Frank. Also, dear friend and caregiver Osa. Thank you to the amazing caregivers at Avow for their help in transitioning Frank from this world to be with the Lord. Also, to all who knew, loved and was a part of his life.
