I used to call him Uncle Jimmy and he would respond, Mikey. What a very talented man. Always quick with a joke and would always help me out with a mechanical problem. He will be greatly missed!

The world will forever be a sadder place without this incredible Man ! My uncle Jim has always been an inspiration to me ! The most talented man I have ever known with quick wit and a plethora of knowledge stored inside of him on just about any topic known to Man !! People were drawn to him and he loved being around them ! Always showing love and respect for his family and friends !

So sorry to hear of Jim's passing!....We had some fun times and visits when we would go down in February. Always called each other on our Birthday's....Goodbye Ol' friend....

Thank you for giving this grand kid some great memories and being the grandpa every kid deserves to have. The memory of your sense of humor, pipe, wood carvings, laugh and your crazy grandpa plaid golf pants will always be with me and make me smile. Also, thanks for teaching me that yes, squirrels do mistake toes for peanuts! And every time I have some cake and ice cream, I'll be thinking of you. The world seems just a little different now that you won't be there in your barn anymore when I go by. You are loved and missed.

When I think of Uncle Jim I remember his hilarious and quick come-backs, and his jokes (stories I always believed were real until he ended with a punchline). Uncle Jim knew how to tell a great joke! He was blessed with endless talents  whether it was art, song, gardening, mechanical or construction. I will remember him and his cars, pipes, his love of old-tyme country music, and his ankle boots  I can't say that I ever saw him wear a different style shoe. I will remember how Uncle Jim absolutely loved and adored Grandma; and how losing Aunt Ginny, the love of his life, devastated him. I will also remember vacations to their NC mountain, and sleeping in the RV down by the stream that was filled with crayfish and fools-gold. It was a wonderland for a Florida kid! But the greatest gift I will always remember Uncle Jim for was giving my Dad a job at his gas station way back in the beginning, and later introducing him to his little sister, Theresa. He gave us the best parents anyone could ever ask for. When I saw him in the hospital 3 weeks ago he said When you look up at the moon and you see the moon's halo, that will be me. You are loved Uncle Jim, and will always be remembered. And if he were here right now he would tell me back I love you too Rick, oh damn'it! I mean Kevin. Hahaha!  Every single time, and it still makes me smile.

Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is absolute and unbroken continuity. What is this death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just round the corner. All is well.
