Born Jean Micka in Johnson City, New York, she grew up surrounded by family, faith, and the close-knit bonds of an ethnic community that helped shape her generous and caring nature. Jean was known for her warm spirit, gentle humor, and the unwavering love she offered to those around her. Throughout her long and fulfilling life, she was a steady presence — the center of her family’s love and connection.
Jean raised her family with her first husband, Arthur T. Healey, II, in Suffern, New York, where she rarely ever missed one of her children’s sporting events or school activities. A dedicated and hardworking mother, she built a successful career as a court reporter at the Rockland County Courthouse, where her diligence and professionalism were admired by all who worked with her. Through her determination and strong work ethic, she provided for her family and proudly helped put her children through college.
After her marriage to Edward McNamara, Jean and Eddie retired together in Naples, Florida, in 1995. There, she enjoyed painting, being president of the Naples Pastel Society, and was active in other social organizations in Pelican Bay, where she and Eddie made many dear friends and shared countless happy years in the sunshine of life.
Jean is survived by her three sons, Arthur T. Healey, III (64) of Chester Springs, PA; Keef E. Healey (63) of Reston, VA; and Francis J. Healey (62) of Irvine, CA; as well as her stepson, Paul McNamara (63) of Windermere, FL. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Joshua D. Healey (30) of Denver, CO; Olivia Healey (29) of Leesburg, VA; Jacob W. Healey (28) of Nashville, TN; and Aidan Healey (24) of Charleston, SC.
Jean was predeceased by her sister, Deloris Micka Vrablic, who passed away in 1995. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Frank Vrablic (91), and her nephew, David Vrablic (59), both of Johnson City, New York. David is married to Julie Vrablic (54), and together they have three children — Aaron, Ethan, and Isaac — with whom Jean shared a special bond, like that of a beloved aunt and mother-in-law.
Jean loved to celebrate her Czechoslovakian heritage with her family from Johnson City, cherishing traditions, the polka, ethnic foods, and stories that kept her roots alive across generations.
Her life was a testament to love, grace, and quiet strength. Jean’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Right at Home for their kindness and care during Jean’s final years.
A visitation will be held at Hodges Funeral Home in Naples, FL at 12pm on Friday October 24, 2025. The funeral service will begin at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Czechoslovak Moravian Club, PO Box 84, Endicott, NY 13760 or a charity of one’s choice in Jean’s honor.
