Jean D. Shaffer

Jean Danker Shaffer- born January 2, 1918, wife, mother, grandmother, golfer, bridge player, Kappa, and friend. She was the daughter of Raymond and Carrie Danker of Zanesville, Ohio and widow of Robert L. Shaffer, her husband of 59 years. Jean was a graduate of Ohio State University where she met Bob and was an active sister in the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. They were long-time residents of Briarcliff Manor, NY and members of the Briarcliff Congregational Church. Upon moving to Naples, Jean became a member of The Classics Country Club at Lely Resort, the Naples Women's Club, and the Tides Club where she made many wonderful friends. She was also a member of the Mayflower Congregational Church in Naples.

She passed away on November 7, 2010 surrounded by her family. She is survived by daughters Susan Jean Shaffer-Bartley (Gene) of Suffield, CT and Jeanette Shaffer Bauer (Kenneth) of Pisgah Forest, NC; grandchildren Carrie G. Dirats and Lisa M. Pickard of MA and Anthony Bartley,Sr of CT; and great grandchildren Meagan, AJ and Emma.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Friday, November 12, 2010 at Mayflower Congregational Church, 2900 County Barn Road, Naples FL.
