

Joan Greco McDougall, born on October 12, 1939, in New York City to parents Salvatore and Mary (Bello) Greco, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025, in Naples, Florida, after a courageous battle with cancer.
A sister to Jerome Greco and Marie Greco, and sister-in-law to Bonnie Hetrick, Joan was cherished by her 2 nephews, cousins and 7 grandnieces and grandnephews. In particular, by her niece Melissa and cousins Betty Ann, Mary Jane and Jennifer.
She enjoyed a long and very successful career as the Controller for a prominent midtown Manhattan real estate company and held a BS in Accounting from Marymount Manhattan College. She achieved this degree by attending night school after work. Joan had to work full time at 17 as a bookkeeper in the garment district as her father had died. She truly worked her way up.
Joan married Rob/Bob McDougall, the absolute love of her life, on October 20, 1984, in Albany, NY by a friend who was a Justice. Bob was the Principal Administrative Law Judge in NYC at Foley Square.
A fashion icon and passionate world and American traveler who was an elite member of the Princess cruise line, she enjoyed fine dining and was actively involved in her community as a member of various organizations, including the Friends of the Library, the Baker Naples Museum, Artis Naples and La Chaine French dining organization. She was also a longtime volunteer at the museum. Joni was an avid reader, historian and big tennis fan. Joan's family and friends will remember her for her class, elegance, and zest for life. She will be so missed. Joni was a truly striking and beautiful woman right to the end.
A visitation and funeral service will be held on June 3, 2025, at Hodges Funeral Home at 525 111th Street N, Naples, FL 34108 from 12PM to 2PM with interment to follow there.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers or St. Jude Hospital for which Joni had monthly remittances.
The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff at Moorings Park Nursing Home where she spent the last 3 weeks of her life from home, and her longtime health aide, Febe Sosa, for their compassionate care.
Joni dearest, you are so mourned already, and your loving caretaker husband is bereft. Best voyage, sweetheart forever.
