John David Gooding

John D. Gooding was born in Brooklyn, NY to George J. Gooding & Georgiana Gooding on April 25, 1929. He went to school in New York City. John married Barbara Gooding in 1971 in Trinidad & Tobago. He graduated from Pace University and The New York Institute of Technology. John worked as a Teacher then an Assistant Principal for Automotive High School in Brooklyn & Alfred E. Smith Automotive High School in The Bronx for over 20 years. He also set up an automotive educational program at the Rikers Island Correctional Facility in New York City. John was an avid angler and a contributing member of The Naples Fishing Club.

John D. Gooding is survived by his wife, Barbara Gooding; an older sister, Dorothy; sons, daughters, nephews, nieces, granddaughters, grandsons, and a thriving family from the East Coast to the West Coast.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 7775 Vanderbilt Beach Rd, Naples, FL 34120, US, on May 8, 2026, at 11:00 am.
