

Born on July 29, 1940, John lived a life defined by dedication, service, and an unwavering love for his family. He was married to the love of his life, Frances McDonald, for 63 wonderful years — a bond he cherished and honored every day.
A proud Army veteran, John served his country with honor before beginning a distinguished 28-year career with the Atlantic City Police Department, where he retired as Captain. After his retirement from law enforcement, he continued his lifelong commitment to safety and service as Head of Security at both the Claridge Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and later at the Hard Rock Seminole Casino in Florida.
John was predeceased by his parents, John A. McDonald Sr. and Verna McDonald. He is survived by his beloved wife Frances; his children, John A. McDonald III, Maria Castellari (Douglas), and Lisa McDonald; and his treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Eric Castellari (Tiffany), Daina Hoffman (Robert), Nicole Castellari, and Brendon, Teagan, Faith, Colton, and Greyson.
He will be remembered for his strength, integrity, and above all, his unconditional and unwavering love for his family. John was a devoted husband, a proud father and grandfather, and a man whose presence brought comfort, wisdom, and warmth to all who knew him.
His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched.
A private family service will be held in his honor.
