Kelly was born August 21, 1963 in North Adams, Massachusetts, to the parents of Sheila Sweet Vihlidal and Douglas Sweet. They moved to Florida in 1977.
Kelly was part of the first graduating class of Cape Coral High School in the class of 1981. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from University of South Florida.
In 1985 Kelly joined the Army where he served for three years as a Military Police Officer stationed in Alabama, New York and Germany . Upon his return, Kelly married his high school sweetheart, Melinda in 1991 and made Naples their home.
He established his own computer tech. business helping many long-term clients with his concierge service. Kelly was also a dedicated employee of Imperial Golf Club in Naples where he oversaw the care and maintenance of the club house grounds and golf course for 17 years.
Survivors include: Wife of 33 years Melinda Sweet, his Mother, Sheila, his Step-Father, Robert, Father, Douglas, his brothers, Karl and Gary and sister, Marcia.
A private service was held June 13.
