Lauraine "Laurie" Lyall White

Lauraine (Laurie) White passed away on August 29, 2017 at Bentley Village in Naples, Florida at the age of 81. She is the daughter of David and Mary Lyall, was born in Dundee, Scotland, grew up in Flushing, NY, graduated from the Northfield School and Mount Holyoke College, and received a MEd from Columbia Teachers College. Laurie taught kindergarten in Westchester County, NY and nursery school in Richmond, VA.

In 1960, Laurie married Jonathan White in Bronxville, NY and they were blessed with four children. Her loving husband, four cherished children, Lynda Czarnetzki, Susanne Rock, Janet White, and Jonathan White, and their spouses, and eleven grandchildren survive her.

Shortly after moving to Naples in 1985, Laurie started Financial Management Services and provided bookkeeping services to Homeowner and Condominium Associations. When the business was sold nine years later, it served sixty clients.

Laurie had a deep Christian faith, was a devoted mother and wife as well as a gifted teacher. She also loved singing in church choirs. This was especially true at Vanderbilt Presbyterian where she shared her beautiful voice for over twenty years. Laurie also served as a Stephen Ministry Leader, Bethel Bible teacher, Elder, Bible Study leader, and Small Group facilitator.

A memorial service will be held at Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church on Saturday, October 21 at 2:00.
