LaVerne Council Franklin, 83, of Naples, Florida, passed away on January 23, 2024. LaVerne was born in Philadelphia, PA. where she attended school and worked as a special education teacher in the Philadelphia public school system.
La Verne was preceded in death by her husband - Paul Franklin, her daughter - Lorenda Fambro Gordon, and her mother - Freda Hunter.
LaVerne and Paul moved to Florida and resided here until their transition. Laverne transitioned on January 23, 2024 at Seascape of Naples where she had resided for five years.
LaVerne was actively involved in the community and received many awards for her accomplishments.
LaVerne joined Bethel AME Church under the pastoral leadership of Reverend Clayton Hodge, I.
The Celebration of Life will be held on February 1, 2024 at Arbor Trace Condominium (1001 Arbor Lake Drive, Naples, FL 34110) at 12 NOON.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the NAACP of Collier County Branch (P.O. Box 990727, Naples, FL 34116).
